I Have a Prayer

I Have a Prayer

Well, actually I have many prayers that I pray on a regular basis. But when I wrote that, I was thinking of Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech from six decades ago that he gave in Washington DC at the mall of our nation’s capital. I agree with much of what he said that day to be sure, and I wish that more of it was being fulfilled in a literal way instead of a manipulated and liberal way that it is today. People should be evaluated and promoted by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. But like his dream of a better America, I have a prayer for a better America, a better state of churches in general, a better state for this church specifically, a better devotion of Christians right here as well as throughout our nation and around the world, and all for the greater glory to God. I pray for a day that every lost soul is being reached with the Gospel because every saved soul is fully engaged with the Great Commission given to us by our Saviour. I pray for a day when every believer in Jesus Christ is living to the glory of God in their life by reading His Word daily and by paying attention to His Spirit using it in their life personally. I pray for a day when every child of God is actively engaged in a biblical church worshipping and serving to the glory of God. I pray for a day when every believer is regularly and faithfully doing their part in spreading the Gospel personally as they go through their daily life, as well as helping their church do it strategically at home and around the world. I pray for a day when every believer honors the Lord in their finances by earning money, giving tithes and offerings, paying bills, storing up a bit, as well by living within their means instead of living in debt. I pray for a day when all Christians everywhere live life according to the Word of God to bring glory to God. I pray for a day when all of God’s children are steadily growing spiritually in personal holiness moving further away from the world and closer to God in their daily lives. I pray for a day when we see another revival in America that leads to another great awakening of many souls saved, more people heeding the call to vocational ministry, and every believer is fully committed to the Lord in their lives. I truly believe that we are going home to Heaven soon and our time to have an impact on this earth for God’s glory is now.
