TEXT:   Acts 9:3-18

I. God is able to get our attention (vv. 3-6)
A. Jesus as God is superior to His creation (v. 3)
B. Jesus as God spoke from Heaven to Saul (v. 4)
C. Jesus as God spoke as the risen Lord and Saviour (v. 5)
D. Jesus as God had Saul’s attention submissively (v. 6)
II. When God has your attention it is a good time to fast (vv. 7-9)
A. When God singles you out, it is a good time to fast (v. 7)
B. When you are thinking about God’s will, it is time to fast (v. 8)
C. When you need God’s next step, it is a good time to fast (v. 9, 11-12)
III. God often uses others to help us in His will for our lives (vv. 10-14)
A. God used one of His faithful servants to help Saul (v. 10)
B. God directed his faithful servant to where he was needed (vv. 11-12)
1. He told Ananias where to go
2. He told Ananias who to help
3. He told Ananias what to do
C. God’s faithful servant had concern over God’s will (vv. 13-14)
IV. God encourages our obedience with His peace and guidance (vv. 15-18)
A. God gave His servant peace about his concerns (v. 15)
B. God gave His servant guidance in His will (v. 16)
C. God gave His servant encouragement in His will (v. 17)
D. God gave His servant His will to fulfill (v. 18)
