TEXT:  Ecclesiastes 9

1. We all have one thing in common    Ecclesiastes 9:1-6
   1. Our temporal existence needs to be contemplated
      1. We need to consider it in our inner being
      2. We all answer to our Creator     Hebrews 9:27-28
      3. We do not know what the future holds for us     Proverbs 27:1;  James 4:14
   2. Our mortal existence will end one day    Ecclesiastes 9:2-3
      1. Because we are all sinners     Romans 3:10, 23
      2. Because we are under the curse of sin     Romans 4:12-22
      3. We are all in need of God’s righteousness in Christ
   3. Our potential in life will be concluded    Ecclesiastes 9:4-6
      1. Our potential for accomplishments while on earth
      2. Our potential to influence others for eternity     Psalm 71:15-18
      3. Our potential to prepare for our accountability to the Lord     Psalm 88:10-12
      4. Our potential to invest in our eternal rewards     Matthew 6:19-21
2. The blessing of enjoying life while you live it    Ecclesiastes 9:11-18
   1. Enjoy the blessing of God on the effort of your work
   2. Enjoy the blessing of God on living life His way
   3. Enjoy the blessing of God in guiding you through life
   4. Enjoy the blessing of God in bringing Him glory in your life     Colossians 3:23-25
3. Wisdom is helpful only if it is heard    Ecclesiastes 9:11-18
   1. Success is not always measured as we might assume
   2. None of us knows how long we have to be successful
   3. Wisdom is best when it is benefitted from by hearing it
   4. God’s wisdom is best for us all & sin is destructive to us all
