TEXT:   John 10:39-42

I. I AM is the Almighty God superior to mankind (v. 39)
A. They sought to take Him many times (John 10:30-38; 8:56-59; 5:14-17; Luke 4:16-30)
B. They were unable to take Him until His time (John 7:1-9; Matthew 26:18)
C. They had no power over the Almighty God (John 10:14-18)
II. I AM is the Almighty God prophesied to come to earth (vv. 40-41)
A. He was prophesied to come in the beginning of time (Genesis 12:1-3; 18:11-21;22:10-18; 26:2-5; 28:13-15)
B. He was prophesied to come in the Old Testament Prophets (Isaiah 9:6-7; 7:14; 52:6-13; Micah 5:2)
C. He was prophesied to come by John in the New Testament (v. 41)
III. I AM is the Almighty God we must believe on for Salvation (v. 42)
A. Many believed on Him there that day
B. Many rejected Him on that day there
C. Many are doing the same here on earth today.

  • Are you allowing yourself to be confused or deceived about who Jesus is?
  • Do you need to believe on Him here today for Salvation to become God’s child?
  • Do you need to believe on Him here today as God’s child to obey His will?
