AM: “‘I AM’ IS THE LIGHT OF LIFE TO ALL THE WORLD”

TEXT:   John 11:25-26

I. This woman was caught in the darkness of sin   John 11:25,26
Jesus enjoyed prayer on the mount of Olives often (v. 1; John 18:1-2; Luke 21:37)
Jesus was faithful to communicate God’s Words to others (v. 2)
Jesus was never a victim, but was always ministering to others (vv. 3-6)

II. This woman saw the light of the loving Saviour    John 11:6-10
Jesus showed grace to this woman, but not her accusers (v. 6)
Jesus challenged her accusers with their own sinfulness (v. 7-9)
Jesus did not excuse her sin but rather forgave her sin (v. 10)

III. The woman left changed in the light of God’s forgiveness    John 11:11-12
Jesus said she was no longer condemned (v. 11a; Romans 4:7-8, 5:1; 8:1-6; John 3:18-19; 5:24; Galatians 3:13)
Jesus said go on with her life forgiven (v. 11b; Ephesians 4:11-13, 19-32; I Peter 2:2-5; II Peter 3:17-18)
Jesus said to live life differently as His child

To not live in the same darkness of sin;  To have a new identity as a child of God;  To live a new life in Christ – following Him;  To live in the light of who I am in Christ.
