God has called us to benefit from His love in our lives personally and to show His love unto others. We need more love in our world. God’s love is unique and transcendent beyond the human ability to love. God’s love is self-sacrificing and other oriented, which is the way He wants His children to love the people around them as well. God listens to us when we call out to Him. Therefore, we need to listen to those who speak to us. God cares about what causes us care and concern, so we should care about the concerns of others. God is good, wants good for us, and desires to bless us and He wants us to do good unto others. God is forgiving of us sinners when we repent so, for us to follow His example, we need to forgive those who sin against us as He forgives us because of the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. God is giving to us in so many ways. He gives us life to us physically and spiritually. God gives to us to meet our needs in every way- physically, spiritually, materially, and emotionally. God calls us to be giving to others showing our love to them in meeting needs and sharing His love with them through what He has given to us. Today, we celebrate God’s love for us that He made possible for us to benefit from in sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so we can be forgiven. Today, we are also celebrating our love for our neighbors and those we live among in our communities. When we truly love those around us, we will do good unto them and desire good for them in their life. When we love those around us, we will not seek to deceive them, take advantage of them, or seek to do them harm. Loving others would solve many of the ills in our society. When we truly love others, we don’t want to hurt them or be mean to them nor do we encourage them to do things that hurt themselves, do harm to others, or do things that destroy their future. God loves us enough to tell us no sometimes and we should also love others enough to tell them no when they are doing something that is going to be bad for themselves or others or is displeasing to God. All love is not the same. God’s love is very different from what many are calling love today. God’s love is superior to mere human, emotional love. We need God’s love in us in order to show it to others.
