Ephesians 4:23-24
“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
God is at work in you today. Saved or lost, it matters not; God is at work in you here today. If you are lost in your sin here today, God is at work to draw you to Himself so you can know His Son as your personal Saviour to enter into a relationship with God as your Heavenly Father. He is drawing you to Himself through His Word which you have heard and will hear today. He is drawing you through His Spirit working to convict you of your sins and convince you of your need of Christ in your life through the Scriptures that you have heard or seen. He is drawing you through the believers you know and the events of your life to help you understand your need of Him as your Heavenly Father. If you are saved in Christ here today, God is at work in your life to sanctify you as His child and conform you more and more into the image of Christ in the likeness of His holiness. He is at work to grow us in our faith in Him, to purify us from any sins we have allowed into our lives, and mature us in our understanding of the truth of His Word. As we go through life on our journey in relationship with God, we need to take time regularly to examine our fellowship with Him in our life. Worship is to be a part of our personal examination with God in our life, so too is special meetings to help us renew ourselves in closeness with God. But, also is the remembrance of the sacrifice of our Saviour for our sins that we have benefitted from personally. We are heading into a special meeting of renewal with God of Faith, Family, and Freedom. This meeting is vital for our walk with the Lord personally, our families and church family collectively, and our nation as citizens of it. As we prayerfully prepare for this meeting with Evangelist Caleb Garraway, I am calling us to examine ourselves in our worship today and tonight to make sure we are in a right relationship with God so nothing in us will hinder His work in His church here at Summerville. Join me in our services today to examine ourselves in light of God’s Word, God’s Spirit, and God’s will for His children in His church.
