I am thankful to be part of God’s family. I am thankful for the day God’s Word helped me understand my lost condition and God’s Spirit convicted me of my sinful condition before the holiness of God. I am thankful for God’s Spirit also working faith in my heart from the truth of God’s Word convincing me of my need of Christ as my Saviour and the forgiveness that only He could provide for me. As the Spirit of God convicted me and convinced me, He was also working faith in me so I could act in obedience to the Gospel and exercise faith in Jesus Christ as my Saviour. I am thankful that God heard my prayer of repentance of sin, my prayer of confession of who Christ was and what He did to save me, and my prayer of calling on Jesus to cleanse me and become my Saviour. I am thankful that God not only heard my prayer, but He also responded to my pray of faith from my heart and mouth by forgiving me, cleansing me, and giving me His holiness by His Holy Spirit coming to live in me. I am thankful for the feeling of cleanness and peace and joy that flooded my soul that overwhelmed me to tears of thanksgiving. I am thankful for all that God has done in my life since that day of Salvation many years ago. He has grown me, chastened me, corrected me, convicted me, convinced me of new truths, and helped me walk with Him in His Word along the way. I am thankful for Him calling me into ministry and the places He has taken me in that journey of pastoral ministry with Him. I am thankful for what He taught me in Bible college and bringing my wife into my life. I am thankful for all He taught me in twelve years of youth ministry and twenty-four years of pastoral ministry here at Summerville. I am thankful for what He has taught me through parenting children, fostering children, and adopting children through our years of marriage. I am thankful for the people He has brought into my life over the years- many of whom I remain in contact with today. I am thankful for being part of His church here at Summerville and for all He has done here, as well as all He has instore to do here until He returns for us in the clouds. I am thankful for what He has planned for my future, and I hope that I will remain faithful and experience all He has planned for me in His will as I walk with Him. And I hope you will too
