He is Here Because He is Risen

Nearly 2,000 years ago today, on the first day of the week following the Passover celebration that began the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a few faithful women who loved the Lord came to honor Him in His death after the Sabbath and the festival were concluded. When they came to where Jesus was buried, they found the tomb had been opened and was empty. They heard the message of the angel declaring, “He is not here: he is risen, as he said.” I am thankful to say today that He is here because He was not there. Because He was not in the grave when they showed up at the tomb, He was able to meet them and speak with them and comfort them as they went to tell the others He was alive. He was not there because He had risen from the grave and from death to a new, glorified, eternal life.  Because He raised from the dead, He can be with us today; He dwells eternally again, just as He did before He was incarnated into human form in the womb of Mary. He is here today, so He can forgive repentant sinners who come to Him in faith receiving Him as their Saviour. He is alive today to be the mediator, intercessor, and advocate with God the Father for all those who trust in Him as their own personal Saviour. He is alive today, because He had risen on that day. Now, He can give all those who receive Him into their life as their righteousness before God His eternal life, so they can live with Him forever in Heaven when life here on earth is over for them. I am glad He is here with us today, because He was not there then. Friends, if you are here today and you feel like He is not here with you, I invite you to ask Him into your life to be your Saviour in order to have your sins forgiven, and He will be with you forever, because He is alive forever more.
