God is continuing to do His work even though Satan and his followers are opposing His work on behalf of mankind. God is working through those who are trusting in Him and following Him faithfully. Sadly, it seems at times that Satan has more of his followers faithfully doing his service than God’s followers are faithfully doing His work on earth. I personally believe that God is winding down His work on earth, but that does not mean that we should be lessening our efforts of doing His work. As someone has said, we must live and work like He is returning tomorrow, but plan like we have a lifetime. God is not just continuing to do His work on earth, He is also continuing to build His church here at Summerville. In a day when too many churches are failing and too many others are dwindling, we are seeing God grow His church here with us. Each of our big outreach efforts this year have been equal to or surpassing the same events of previous years. Instead of cancelling ministries this year, we have actually started new ministries and have seen other ministries get more traction and success. Although we did not break ground on our new building like I was hoping, we have made progress on our plans and our building fund and do pray that we will see this building come to fruition in the near future once we have enough funds in hand to break ground. It is my prayer to have two-thirds of the total amount in hand before we break ground and then trust God to bring in the rest during the time it takes us to finish the project. The total projected cost of the project, as we discussed before the church voted to proceed with this design, will be just over one million dollars; we have nearly four hundred thousand for the building fund in various savings accounts and CDs. The actual true cost of the entire project will be determined largely by how much work we invest in the construction of the building ourselves, just like was the case with the current building we are meeting in at this time. We do need to sacrifice in our giving to see this become a reality, but as I have mentioned many times, we need to pray and fast for God to work miraculously as well. Just like with this current facility the church meets in and uses in ministry, we need to petition God to bring in funds from beyond His church body here to see it become a reality.
