Declare God’s Lovingkindness Now

Psalm 88:11-12

“Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave?

or thy faithfulness in destruction?

Shall thy wonders be known in the dark?

and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?”

This is a very good question for us all to consider. The only time we have to declare God’s lovingkindness to those who are living around us is while we are living here on earth with them. The only time we have to serve God in His work on earth is while we are on earth. The only time we have to witness to the lost around us is while we are around them and they are around us here on earth. We humans are notorious for putting things off until it is too late. We need to seize the moment of opportunity while it is presented to us or it will be gone and may never be offered to us again. None of us know how long we have on the earth and the Bible declares that truth in many places such as James 4:13-17 and Proverbs 27:1. God tells us in His Word that we do not know how long we have on this earth, our life on earth is brief, and we have no guarantee of the next day or moment of time. That is not only true of ourselves, but it is also true of those around us. If we are going to share the Gospel with them, we must do it while we can. If we are going to declare God’s goodness and greatness to them, then we must do it while the opportunity is available to us. If we are going to have an impact on the people that we know for God’s glory, then we must do it while they are with us and we are with them. We must have a sense of urgency in regards to these matters or we will one day realize that it is too late and there is no more time. Satan wants us to think that we can do it another day or we can say it next time or there will be a better opportunity in the future. But the reality is that none of us know any of those things factually. The reality is there may not be another day or opportunity. Once a person enters eternity, there are no more opportunities to witness to them. Once a person enters eternity, there is no more opportunity for them to change their relationship with God. For the believer, the only time we have to witness to the lost or be a testimony to them of faithfulness to the Lord or serve the Lord in His work on earth is while we are here on earth. Once we enter eternity, we have no more opportunities for any of those activities. Now is the time to act in obedience to God’s will for all of His children. Today is the day for us to make the most of the opportunities that are presented to us because it may be our last opportunity to be faithful.
