The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.     Proverbs 15:33

I. It is the instruction of wisdom from the Lord vs. 33 

A. It is the wisdom of the Lord that motivates us to fear the Lord

2. It is the wisdom of the Lord that educates us to fear the Lord

3. It is the wisdom of the Lord that enables us to honor the Lord

1. Honor the Lord by obeying Him

2. Honor the Lord by submitting to Him

3. Honor the Lord by honoring others

II. It is instruction that must be heard to be heeded vss. 30-32

1. A good report cannot encourage you until it is received

2. Wisdom cannot help you if you refuse to listen to it

3. The instruction of the fear of the Lord cannot bless you if you refuse it

1. Refusing the instruction of the fear of the Lord is to hurt yourself in life

2. Receiving the instruction of the fear of the Lord gives you understanding

III. It gives the instruction of righteousness vss. 28-29

1. The fear of the Lord is instruction to think before you speak vs. 28a     I Peter 3:15

2. The fear of the Lord is instruction to have control of your words vs. 28b

1. The wisdom of God helps to live in the fear of the Lord

2. The fear of the Lord helps to live honorably unto the Lord

3. Living honorably unto the Lord requires self-control of the parts of our lives

3. The fear of the Lord is instruction to live life in harmony with God vs. 29

1. Close to the Lord in submission to Him

2. Connected to the Lord to be able to speak to Him

3. Corresponding to the Lord so you can hear Him answer your prayers
