TEXT:  ACTS 14:19-23

I. Facing fierce opposition by Satan is a serious matter (vv. 19-20)
A. Being pounded by stones is serious opposition
B. Being left under a pile of rocks as dead is serious opposition
C. Being willing to return to the place of opposition requires serious faith
II. Handling tribulations as a young Christian is challenging (vv. 21-22)
A. Trusting in Christ when you know people die for doing so requires serious faith
B. Being a new believer in an area hostile to Christianity requires serious faith
C. Maturing as a believer to stand for Jesus at personal sacrifice requires serious faith
III. Ordaining pastors to lead churches is a big decision (v. 23)
A. Discerning who God has called
B. Determining who God has gifted
C. Deciphering who God has chosen
