I. Worship is to bless the Lord (vv. 1-5)
A. Bless the Lord from our soul (vv. 1-2)
B. Bless the Lord with all that is in me (vv. 1-2)
C. Bless the Lord in acknowledging His blessings (vv. 2-5)
1. Spiritual blessings (v. 3a, 4a)
2. Physical blessings (v. 3b, 4a)
3. Emotional blessings (v. 4b)
4. Personal blessings (v. 5)

II. Worship is to be based on the Bible (vv. 6-8)
A. The standard of God’s righteousness declared in His Word (v. 6a)
B. The verdict of God’s truth declared in His Word (v. 6b; Psalm 19:7-14)
C. The ways that God has worked and He says He will bless (v. 7a)
D. The actions that God has already taken recorded in His Word (v. 7b)
E. The attributes of God that He has revealed about Himself (v. 8)

III. Worship is based on relationship (vv. 8-12)
A. Responding to God’s offer of grace and lovingkindness to us (vv. 8-9)
B. Benefitting from God’s patience and mercy available to us (vv. 9-10)
C. Receiving God’s forgiveness and righteousness provided to us (vv. 10-12)

* Has my worship tonight been a blessing to God?
* Has our worship as a church tonight been based on the truth of His Word?
* Have I benefited from the relationship God offers so I can worship biblically?
