TEXT:  I John 1:5-10

I. To walk with God we must walk in the light of His holiness (v. 5)
A. God’s Word declares His perfect holiness
B. God’s messengers must declare God’s perfect holiness
C. God’s message of His perfect holiness and our need of it in our lives must be heard
1. We must hear it to be convicted by it to see our need of it in our lives
2. We must hear it in order to receive it and benefit from it in our lives
3. We must share it with others after we have received it so they can hear

II. To have fellowship with God we must live in the light of His truth (vv. 6-7)
A. We cannot have fellowship with God without His holiness in our soul (v. 6)
B. We cannot have fellowship with God if we are living in sin as His child (v. 6)
C. We only have fellowship with God when we live in harmony with Him (v. 7)

III. To have a right relationship with God we must have His forgiveness (vv. 8-10)
A. To have God’s forgiveness we must be honest about our sins (v. 8)
B. To have God’s forgiveness we must confess our sins (v. 9)
C. To have God’s forgiveness we must agree with God about our sins (v. 10)

Action Points:
* Do you need to receive God’s holiness into your soul for salvation tonight?
* Do you have sin in your life that is disrupting your fellowship with your Heavenly Father that needs to be repented of tonight?
* Let us all express our gratitude tonight for God allowing us to live in fellowship with Him in His holiness.
