1. God wants His children to understand His plans
   1. God does not want His children to be ignorant  I Thess 4

   3. God does not want His children distracted by lesser things  I Thess. 5
2. God wants His children to be anticipating His return
   1. Growing in faith to trust His Word  Romans 10:17; I Peter 2:2;  2 Peter 3:18
   2. Listening for the trump to sound  I Thess. 4:17
   3. Looking for the Lord to descend  Titus 2:13; Hebrews 12:12; 2 Peter 3:12; Jude 21
3. God wants the truth of His future plans to be a comfort to His children  I Thess. 4:18; 5:11
   1. God said His children are not appointed unto wrath
   2. God has promised His children deliverance from His wrath  Romans 5
   3. God has accepted Jesus’ payment for our sin’s wrath  I Thess. 1:10
   4. God has delivered His children from His wrath in the past
