AM: “I Still Believe Churches Must Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ”

Text: I Corinthians 1:12-31

  1. Biblical churches are all about Jesus, not men.  V. 12-17
    1. It is not about the preacher   II Cor 4:5
    2. It is not about what the people want
    3. It is not about a big group of people gathering
    4. IT IS all about what is eternally effective
  2. Biblical churches are to preach the Cross of Christ.  V. 18-24
    1. Preaching the Cross  I Cor 15:1-6
    2. Preaching the Name of Christ Jesus   Acts 4:10-12; II Cor 4:1-6
    3. Preaching the Wisdom of God from the Word of God
  3. Biblical churches need the Power of God.  V 24-31
    1. The power of God is in the Word of God   Rom 1:16; Heb 4:12
    2. The power of God is in the Wisdom of God
    3. The power of God is in the Glory of God
    4. The power of God is in declaring the Word of God  II Cor 5:17-21

    • Are you truly part of God’s family by faith in His Son?
    • Are you obeying His Will for His children and His church?
    • Are you helping your church preach God’s message of Salvation to others?
