    Introduction:
    >In chemistry fundamental elements are crucial H2O is always water
    >In mathematics fundamentals facts are constant 1+1=2, 2+2=4, 4+4=8
    >In engineering fundamental details are critical load vs support
    >In economics fundamental principles are continuous credits must exceed debits
    >In all of life fundamental truths are consequential
    When we get away from the fundamentals of God everything falls apart. (vv. 1-3)
    When we follow the ideas of man instead of the fundamentals of God, we fail. (vv. 4-7)
    When we try to accomplish anything apart from the foundation of God’s fundamentals it is vain, empty, and destined to disaster. (vv. 8-9)

    I. Fundamentals are foundational (vv. 10-12)
    A. They form in the beginning (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1)
    1. Of Creation.     (Psalm 102:25; Isaiah 48:13; Zechariah 12:1; Luke 11:50)
    2. Of marriage and families.     (Genesis 1:27; 5:2; 6:19; 7:16; Matthew 19:4-8; Mark 10:1-9)
    3. Of nations.     (Exodus 9:18)
    4. Of buildings.     (I Kings 5:17; 6:37; Ezra 3:10; Luke 6:46-49)
    5. Of faith.     (Isaiah 28:16; Ephesians 2:20; Hebrews 6:1)
    B. They give a base for the rest.     (Luke 6:46-49)
    C. They are what everything else builds upon
    II. Fundamentals are essential (v. 11)
    A. They are essential to success.
    B. They are essential to effectiveness.
    C. They are essential to consistency.
    III. Fundamentals are eternal.
    A. They can never change.     (Malachi 3:6; Deut. 4:2; Prov. 30:5-6; Rev. 22:18-19)
    B. They are always the same.     (Hebrews 13:8; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33)
    C. They will always be true.
    D. They all will always be the same for all people in all places.   (vv. 13-18)
