TEXT:  I Peter 2:1-12

I. We are pilgrims by spiritual birth (vv. 1-3)
A. Spiritual birth causes us to lay aside things of our old man (v. 1)
B. Spiritual birth requires spiritual nourishment to grow us (v. 2)
C. Spiritual birth begins and continues with the Lord’s grace (v. 3)

II. We are pilgrims to represent our Saviour to others (vv. 4-8)
A. He is chosen of God to be the Saviour of those who believe on Him (v. 4)
B. He is the living stone to make us lively stones to build with (v. 5)
C. He is the firm foundation of our faith to give us confidence as His (v. 6)
D. He is precious to us even though rejected by others (vv. 7-8)

III. We are pilgrims to be an influence on others (vv. 9-12)
A. Be a spiritual influence (vv. 9-10)
B. Be a moral influence (v. 11)
C. Be a Godly influence (v. 12)
