This past week we continued our ministry to children by taking three junior boys to camp and each of them were also engaged in VBS the week before last. This past week we also took five teens to camp and most of them were involved with serving in VBS. Last Sunday, we had two children make a profession of faith in Christ as personal Saviour in Super Church. Those two children came to VBS each day and have been attending our ministry for a while and the Holy Spirit was working on their understanding of truth to build faith with the Word of God for them to act upon in trusting Christ as their Saviour. Last Sunday, we also had a young adult profess faith in Christ as personal Saviour. He has been attending our services for several weeks and God has been at work through His Word. This week at camp, we had a teen put their faith in Christ as personal Saviour to make sure of his Salvation after having some doubts. And we had others at the altar in prayer making personal decisions. Yesterday, we had a wonderful time of fellowship with several of our men at the Men’s Prayer Breakfast and a few of them shared what God has spoken to them about in their personal time in the Scriptures. This past week we also had four people from our church head up on the long journey to St. Mary’s, AK, to help them with their church camp for children and teens again this year. That will be our second missions trip team sent out from our church to serve with one of our church planting missionaries in their ministry. In the days ahead, we will be having the Gospel Truth Booth in the fair again for the purpose of spreading the Gospel message and seeking to sow the seed of the truth of God’s love and provision for all people. We will also be holding another Gospel outreach to children in the city of Elgin and have another Sr Adult picnic in the park before the summer is over. There will also be the men and boys camping trip in August. The point I am trying to make with all of this is that we are continuing to offer ministry to everyone. At Summerville Baptist Church we seek to stick to the Bible model of ministry and try to minister as effectively as possible to whoever we can. People younger and older all matter to God and they do to us as well. Families and single individuals matter to God, so we try to offer ministry to both alike. Jesus died for them all and we should be trying to communicate the truth of that to them all. In the Bible, we see God sending His love and provision to whoever and all those who respond to it in faith benefitted from it. That is what we are continuing to try to do in the church ministry because it is the Lord’s church and we need to follow His example.
