Luke 2:36-38 [36] And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; [37] And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. [38] And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
This lady was a prime example of how God expects the church to take care of their widows, and how their widows should continue to serve God, in the church as long as God allows. Yes, she was a Prophetess, but she was still just a lady. God doesn’t expect us to do what we can’t. He does expect us to do what we can. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” If we are truly seeking the Lords will in our lives, there should never be a need not filled in our church. The problem of few doing much, and another doing little is not God’s Plan, that’s man’s problem.
Please truly pray, seek God’s Plan for your life, then do what He leads you to. That is what moves the church forward. God has a perfect plan, where do you fit in it?
