Psalm 11:1-3
In the LORD put I my trust:
how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string,
that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
The founding fathers of our nation believed in the one, true, and eternal God of the Bible. The leaders of our nation in the original colonies had to sign a statement of faith in regards to their belief in the true God of the Bible. The men who signed the Declaration of Independence and drafted our Constitution believed in the Creator God of the Bible. This is the foundation of our nation and today we have people who want to destroy this foundation. There are many in our national and state leadership who reject the idea of God and believe they are their own authority. Therefore, they wish to fundamentally change the structure of our government in order to make our nation something completely different which is fully secular in rejection of the idea of God. I am thankful that we live in a free nation where you can believe what you want and you can proclaim what you believe. But the reason we have those rights is because of the biblical teaching of individual soul liberty. No one can make you believe something that you believe to be untrue. There are too many in our nation and state who want to force their beliefs on us even if we don’t believe them or agree with them. The government is not to establish or force any religion on its citizens, that is what is happening with humanism, evolution, and the woke gender identity ideologies. Those of us who do believe the Bible and the God of the Bible need to be engaged in the political process of our nation in order to maintain the foundation of our nation or we may live to see the day when it is nothing like it is today. We need to be educated on issues facing our nation. We need to understand our origin, our history, and our form of government. We need to vote and we need to communicate our views to our elected representatives in the nation and in our state. We also need to be willing to serve in public offices in order to have a voice in the decision-making process. If God’s people disengage from the process of government, then the only thing to expect is a completely secularized government. But if we want to get back to our roots and strengthen our foundation, then we need more people like our founding fathers who are willing to dedicate themselves to the freedoms of our nation and get involved.
