RENEW Love

In every relationship we need to keep our love fresh and new in order to not allow it to become stale or cold. In marriage, if we do not communicate daily, share time together meaningfully, or enjoy some romance regularly, we become complacent or drift apart over time. The same is true in our relationship with the Lord. When we enter into relationship with the Lord personally by receiving Jesus as our personal Saviour to cleanse us of our sins, we begin a journey of walking with Him in our life that we need to maintain daily. This is why we need to spend time in personal worship daily and corporate worship regularly. Daily worship allows us to connect in a purposeful and meaningful way to renew our closeness to the Lord in our relationship with Him. It gives us time to listen to Him by reading His Word. It gives us time to talk to Him in prayer. It also gives us time to consider things that need to be repented of and taken care of so we do not have anything interfering in our fellowship through the day. This is how personal worship helps us renew our love with the Lord during the week as we spend time with Him alone in fellowship because of our relationship. This is also true in marriage. We need to listen to each other, share our thoughts and concerns with each other, and make things right with each other on a daily basis if we want to keep our love for each other new and fresh so it doesn’t become cold and stale. This month we are going to look at the importance of renewing our love for the Lord and His love for us. We are also going to look at our love for His Word and for His work here on earth. This is what revival is all about. It is God’s people renewing their love with the Lord. We need revival in our families, our churches, our communities, and our nation. But it starts in our individual lives.
