God Displaying His Glory

Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed;

it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;

Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:

and the government shall be upon his shoulder:

and his name shall be called

Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,

upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it,

and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.

The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

When sin began in God’s perfect creation and death separated man from his Creator, man’s Creator promised and provided a solution to the need he had caused in his disobedience. God did not cause man’s situation, but God did use man’s situation to display His glory as the Creator of all things. God created all of creation to display His glory, as stated in Psalm 19, and man being created in God’s image is another way that He is displaying His glory. The prophecies of God’s redemptive plan in the incarnation of Christ to come in human form to be God’s Messiah and Saviour of mankind all speak to God displaying His glory to man. In God’s salvation, sinners like us benefit from the holiness of God in our souls so we can further and more accurately display His glory to others here on earth. This is why living biblically and allowing the sanctifying work of God in His children through yielding to the Spirit of God to obey the will of God and live to God’s glory here on earth is so intricate in God’s plan. God is seeking to display His glory through us to others and, like Mary in Luke 2, we must agree to cooperate with God’s plan to use our lives as a sign unto others to display His glory to them.
