Being a Good Citizen of Heaven and America

I. Value liberty as a gift from God (vv. 1-12)
A. Stand fast and firm in God’s gift of liberty in Christ and in America (v. 1)
B. Reject anything that will forfeit liberty in Christ and in America (vv. 2-8)
C. Resist everyone trying to take away liberty in Christ and in America (vv. 9-12)

II. Use liberty for good unto others (vv. 13-15)
A. God’s gift of liberty is not to be used for our own selfish benefit (v. 13)
B. God’s gift of liberty is to be used to help others benefit as well (v. 14)
C. God’s gift of liberty is to be used to build others not tear them down (v. 15)

III. Let God’s Spirit help us glorify God with His gift of liberty (vv. 16-26)
A. Live in the context of being filled with God’s Spirit (vv. 16-17)
B. Let the Spirit of God lead in your life not your carnal flesh (vv. 18-24)
C. Live in the Spirit to God’s glory not in the flesh to your own glory (vv. 25-26)
