This week, a team of servants from Summerville Baptist Church has invested themselves in hope for the future. This week the givers who support the ministry of Summerville Baptist Church have invested in the hope of our future. This week the prayer warriors of Summerville Baptist Church have invested in the hope of the future. If you are not aware of how this investment in the hope of the future was made, I would encourage you to be more engaged in the ministry of Summerville Baptist Church. This past week the ministry of Summerville Baptist Church was heavily invested in the hope of the future through the children’s ministry of Vacation Bible School. The hope for the future of any society is found in the children of that society. The hope for the future families of any community is in the children. The hope for the future of any church is found in the children. Children are the future adults of society, families, and churches. If children are going to know the truth of the Gospel and the revelation of God about Himself, they need to be taught while they are young. Children need to be reached while they are young to help them begin their relationship with the Lord and grow in Him to be ready to be the adults of the future that make things better in society, families, and churches. Of all the people who are truly born again at any given time in recent history, the greatest percentage of them were saved before the age of 18 years old. So, the best time to reach children with the Gospel is while they are young. The best time to help keep a person from being deceived by the various cults teaching false information is while they are young by helping them understand the truth about God and His Word. The best way to help people grow up to understand how they should live to God’s glory here on earth is to help them learn those truths while they are young so they can avoid much of the damage and destruction sinful choices can make in their life early on. The best way to reach the next generation of children with the truths of God is to reach this generation of children and help them walk with God through their teen years and early adult life. God has given this responsibility to parents first and foremost, but He has also commissioned His church to help the families in the process of reaching their children with truth as they grow up. God’s design for government is to protect the citizens not to indoctrinate them with ideologies that are opposite to and opposed to God and His Word. This church began with the emphasis of reaching children, and I pray we will never lose that emphasis as a biblical church.
