TEXT: Colossians 3:5-17

I. We must die daily to our fleshly desires (vv. 5-7)
A. We are made alive in our spirit once by the Holy Spirit (v. 5; Ephesians 2:1-7)
B. We must die to our flesh daily and live to righteousness (v. 6; I Corinthians 15:31-34)
C. We must let the Spirit lead in our lives not our flesh (v. 7; Romans 8:12-17)

II. We must renew our mind daily in knowing God (vv. 8-11)
A. To see things that need to be changed in me (vv. 8-9)
B. To get closer to God by knowing Him more (v. 10)
C. To be more yielded to Christ in my life (v. 11)

III. We must keep growing as a child of God to be more like Him (vv. 12-14)
A. Because we are a child of God, we can grow in Him (v. 12)
B. Because we are a child of God, we can become more like Him (v. 13)
C. Because we are a child of God, we can show forth His love (v. 14)

IV. We must keep ourselves sensitive to God working in us (vv. 15-17)
A. By being attentive to God’s peace in our soul (v. 15)
B. By being in His Word so it can be in us to work in us (v. 16)
C. By being aware of all we say or do is to honor our Saviour (v. 17)
