WED: “THE FEAR OF THE LORD HELPS US COME TO WORSHIP GOD”

TEXT:  PSALM 66

  • Introduction:  Psalm 66:16
    • The invitation to come is to those who fear God
    • The purpose of coming is to hear the message of God’s great work declared
    • The invitation is to all those individuals who fear God & want to hear about His works
    • The invitation is offered by the one who is ready to declare the greatness of God because of what God has done in his soul.
  1. Come to hear the message of God declared    Psalm 66:16-20
    1. Come to the place where God’s greatness is proclaimed
    2. Come & listen to the one communicating God’s message
    3. Come & lift up prayers to Him from a pure heart
  2. Come to sing songs to the glory of God    Psalm 66:1-4
    1. Come to make a joyful noise to God
    2. Come to honor His name in song
    3. Come to praise Him for His greatness
  3. Come to be reminded about the great works of God    Psalm 66:5-7
    1. In the preaching of God’s Word
    2. In the praises of God’s people
    3. In the power of God displayed
  4. Come to encourage each other in the goodness of God    Psalm 66:8-15
    1. God’s people blessing God & being heard by others
    2. God’s people proclaiming His work in them to each other
    3. God’s people gathering in God’s house to offer thanks to God
