Supporting one another in Christian love and Spiritual growth through obedience to God’s Word.  (I Peter 2:2; I Peter 3:18; Hebrews 10:20-25)

Introduction: (vv. 19-21)
The church of the living God is made up of saved people, who have been Scripturally baptized,
and have united together in a common doctrine.
* We have entered into His holiness
* We have been cleansed by His blood
* We are following a new and living way of life in Christ
* We are in relationship with the High Priest and sacrifice to bring us to God.
As a church family ….
I. We are to draw closer to the Lord together (vv. 22)
A. Draw means we are making progress
B. Near means we are getting closer
C. True means that we are honoring the Lord more.

II. We are to grow stronger together in our faith (vv. 23)
A. Getting a stronger grip of understanding on truth
B. Being strong enough not to vacillate in our beliefs
C. Being confident in the promises of God by learning them together.  (I Peter 2:1-3; II Peter 3:17-18)

III. We are to gather together to encourage one another (vv. 24-25)
A. Gathering in the house of God to care for one another consider
B. Gathering in the house of God to challenge one another provoke
C. Gathering in the house of God to motivate one another exhort
Action Points:
* How are you helping your church family grow closer to the Lord?
* Are you present enough with your church family to be an influence on others?
* Who is benefiting from your walk with the Lord in your church family?
