- The Bible says we already have eternal life in Christ I John 5:9-14, 20
- “Hath given” is past tense as something that is already possessed V 11
- “Hath life” is referring to our present condition that we’ve already received V 12
- “Have eternal life” is present tense speaking of our life here and now V 13
- It is backed up by the written Word of God
- It is something that can be known confidently
