TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:22-33
I. Christ and the church is compared to a husband and his wife vss. 22-24
- We should all do all that we do as unto the Lord vs. 22
 - Wives should submit as unto the Lord vs. 23
 - Husbands should lead as unto the Lord vs. 23
 - Children should obey and honor as unto the Lord
 - Workers should serve as unto the Lord
 - Pastors should shepherd the Lord’s flock as unto the Lord
 - Church families should follow their shepherd as He follows the Lord
 
II. Biblical love is displayed through service and sacrifice vss. 25-28
- Husbands need to love like Christ has by giving themselves vs. 25
 - Husbands need to love with the cleansing truth of God’s Word vs. 26
 - Husbands need to love in a way to make others better vs. 27
 - Husbands need to love their families with self-sacrificing love vs. 28
 
III. Biblical love is displayed in giving ourselves to what we love vss. 29-31
- We naturally give ourselves to taking care of our needs vs. 29
 - Christ gave Himself to take care of us spiritually vs. 30
 - God’s family should give themselves to taking care of one another vs. 30
 - Husbands should give themselves to taking care of their wife vs. 31
 - Wives should give themselves to taking care of their husband vs. 31
 
IV. Biblical love will produce biblical respect vss. 32-33
- The theological mystery of Christ’s sacrificial love for His followers. (II Corinthians 5:14-15; I John 2:6; Ephesians 5:28; I John 3:16-18)
 - The practical reality of a biblical husband leading his family in loving
 - The practical reality of a biblical marriage being filled with respect
