TEXT: Luke 6:27-36
Luke 6:31 ~ “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”

I. Love your enemies as you want them to love you (vv. 27-30)
A. God commands us to love our enemies
B. Loving one another is a command from God (Mark 7:1-13; Galatians 6:1-10)
C. Loving is our responsibility, judging is God’s responsibility
II. Treat your enemies as you would want them to treat you (vv. 31-34)
A. As ye would that men should do to you (v. 31)
B. To love like sinners love is natural for all people (vv. 32-33)
C. To love like God commands requires His help in our lives (v. 34)
III. Show mercy to your enemies as you want them to show mercy to you (vv. 35-36)
A. Loving others means doing good unto them (v. 35a)
B. Following the example of our Heavenly Father (v. 35b)
C. We should show mercy because we have been shown God’s mercy (v. 36)
