AM: “The Firm Foundation of Faith in Christ”

Text: Ephesians 2

  1. Remember who you were before Christ     Ephesians 2:1-12
    1. In the past before Christ
    2. In the flesh of your own ability
    3. In the bondage of sin without Christ
  2. Realize who you are in Christ     Ephesians 2:13-22
    1. We are brought into relationship with God
      1. A relationship of peace instead of wrath  Romans 4:1-2
      2. A relationship of reconciliation instead of enmity   Romans 5:9-11
      3. A relationship of access to our Heavenly Father     Romans 5:2
      4. A relationship of holy oneness through His Spirit
      5. A relationship of a new spiritual family in Christ
    2. We are a child of the King     Romans 8:14-17; Ephesians 2:2; I Peter 2:4-12
    3. We are being built for God’s glory as His Temple      I Corinthians 6:19-20; II Corinthians 6:16
      1. We are being built upon the firm foundation of faith     Galatians 3:25; Ephesians 2:8; II Timothy 3:15-17; Jude 13
      2. We are being built by the LORD as His dwelling place
      3. We are a building in which God dwells     Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30; II Corinthians 1:22
  3. Recognize the reality of our future purpose in Christ
    1. To produce  good works in Christ for God’s Glory
    2. To be a bright light of witness to the lost for God’s Glory     Matthew 5:14-16
    3. Being fruitful to God’s Glory as He has enabled us to be.     John 15:1-8; Colossians 1:10-14
