TEXT: MATTHEW 16:13-28

1. The process by which the Lord will build His church.  Matthew 16:24-25
   1. Anyone can participate.
   2. Only one way to participate.
      1. Volitional  –  “let him”
      2. Repentance  –  “deny himself”
      3. Sacrifice  –  “take up his cross
      4. Surrender  –  “follow me”
   3. Motives matter in participating.
2. The promise which the Lord made about eternity.  Matthew 16:26-27
   1. Gaining the whole world is not worth losing your eternal soul.
   2. Jesus sacrificed all He had to pay the debt of our eternal soul.
   3. Jesus will come for what He paid for, judge each life He died for.
3. The promise of His victory on our behalf.  Matthew 16:28
   1. When did 3 of them see Jesus glorified before their eyes?  Mark 8:27-9:13; Luke 9:18-36
   2. When did the Son of man come in His Kingdom?  Colossians 1:11-14
   3. When did Jesus declare the victory of His Kingdom authority on earth?  Matthew 28:18-20
   4. When did Jesus finish the victory for sinners to enter His Kingdom?  1 Corinthians 15:50-58
   5. How did Jesus win this victory for us to enter into with Him?  1 Corinthians 15:14
