TEXT:  I John 2:22-25

I. Who God is, is essential to truly knowing God (vv. 22-23)
A. It is a lie to say that Jesus is not the Christ (v. 22a)
B. It is opposing to Christ to deny the Godhead (v. 22b)
C. It is impossible to have God in your life without having Jesus (v. 23)

II. The truth of God must be in you to be faithful to Him (v. 24)
A. The truth of Jesus from God must be in you by faith for Salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9)
B. The truth of Jesus from God must be heard before it can be believed (Ephesians 1:11-14)
C. The truth of Jesus from God must be in you to continue in Him

III. The promises of God are true because God is eternally true (v. 25)
A. A promise is only as good as the one offering it (Titus 1:2; Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27: Jeremiah 32:17)
B. This promise is given by God to us (Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 91; Jeremiah 32:17; II Corinthians 1:20; 7:1; I Peter 1:3-5)
C. This promise is about something beyond human capability
