AM: “FAITHFULNESS IN MINISTERING”

TEXT:  II Timothy 2:14-18

I. The charge to accept (v. 14)
A. Remind the sheep of God’s truth
1. Spiritual leaders need to put truth into the mind of those in our care
2. Spiritual leaders keep God’s truth in front of those they lead
3. Spiritual leaders bring up important biblical truth to those they are responsible for

B. Reprove the sheep before the Lord
C. Rebuke the sheep from going astray from the Lord
1. God’s people need to be careful about what they say
2. God’s people need to make sure their words don’t cause others to doubt God
3. God’s people need to build the faith of others not diminish it

II. The challenge to meet (v. 15)
A. Diligently study to be approved and not ashamed unto God
B. Diligently study to be accurate in your teaching of God’s Word
C. Diligently study to be feeding the flock of God to grow well

III. The caution to heed (vv. 16-18)
A. Avoid useless arguments (v. 16a)
B. Avoid increasing ungodliness (vv. 16b-17)
C. Avoid erring from the truth (v. 17)

Action Points:
* Are you regularly benefitting to the charge given to your pastor for you?
* Could you benefit more from the spiritual meals being prepared for your spiritual growth?
* How are you allowing lesser things to cause you not to heed the caution given by God today?
