AM: “CONTINUE IN BROTHERLY LOVE”

TEXT:  Hebrews 13:1-9

I. We choose to love one another (vv. 1-3)
A. We must allow ourselves to let love continue (v. 1)
B. We must allow ourselves to be loving to others as fellow believers (v. 1; Romans 12:10; I Thessalonians 4:9; I Peter 1:22; II Peter 1:7)
C. We must allow ourselves to continue showing love to others as believers (v. 1)
D. We allow ourselves to show brotherly love by being hospitable to others (v. 2)
E. We allow ourselves to care about others who are suffering for Jesus (v. 3; Hebrews 2:6)

II. We must choose to honor God in our relationships (vv. 4-6)
A. Honoring God in our marriage relationship (v. 4)
B. Honoring God in our relationship with Him (v. 5)
C. Honoring God in our relationships with others (v. 6)

III. We must choose to benefit from God’s spiritual caregivers (vv. 7-9)
A. Graciously respecting the under shepherd of the Lord’s flock (v. 7)
B. Submissively trusting in the biblical, immutable Jesus (v. 8)

1. The Jesus who is eternally unchanging in His person (I John 5:7; Matthew 3:16-17; Psalm 2:7; Proverbs 30:4; Isaiah 7:14; I John 5:20; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 11:27)
2. The Jesus who is eternally unchanging in His deity (John 1:1-4; 17:3, 5; I John 5:20)
3. The Jesus who is eternally unchanging in His redemptive plan (Psalm 90:2; John 17:24; Ephesians 1:4; I Peter 1:13-25; I Corinthians 2:7; II
Timothy 1:9; Titus 1:2; John 3:15; 10:28; Romans 5:1; Titus 3:7; I; John 1:2; 2:25; 3:15; I John 5:11-13; Jeremiah 31:3; John 3:16; Romans 6:23)

C. Obediently staying faithful to the truth of God’s Word alone (v. 9; I Corinthians 8 :8, 13; 6 :13; Romans 14:17)
