March 3, 2024     TEXT:  II Peter 1:1-15

I. Everything we build begins with the foundation (vv. 1-2)

1. The foundation of faith is precious from God (v. 1)
2. The foundation of faith is provided by grace (v. 2)
3. The foundation of faith offers peace to us (v. 2)

II. We build our life on the foundation of faith by knowing God more (vv. 3-4)

1. With His divine power growing in us (v. 3a)
2. With us growing in knowing God more personally (v. 3b)
3. With us knowing His promises recorded in His Word more (v. 4a)
4. With His divine nature of holiness growing in us (v. 4b)

III. We build our life on the foundation of faith by adding as He designed (vv. 5-9)

1. Building by adding diligently (v. 5a)
2. Building by adding details (vv. 5a-7)     Virtue, Knowledge, Temperance, Patience, Godliness, Kindness, Charity

3. Building by adding development (vv. 8-9; I Peter 2:1-3; II Peter 3:17-18)

IV. We build on the foundation of faith by experiencing all God desires for us (vv. 10-15)

1. We make our experience with God greater or less (vv. 10-11)
2. We make our benefit from God’s servants more or less (vv. 12-13)
3. We only have the time we have on earth to make a difference (vv. 14-15)
