TEXT:  JOB 1:1-5

• INTRODUCTION:
  • Note the order of Job’s priorities in life – these should be ours also
    • Spiritual condition most important
    • Family
    • Business

1. Job was a godly example to his family (v.1)
   1. He had grown to live right with God in his life
   2. He had matured to honor God in his life
   3. He had disciplined himself to avoid evil in his life – see also: Psalm 36:1; Proverbs 8:13; 16:6; Romans 3:10-18
2. Job was a good provider for his family (vv.2-4)
   1. He worked hard to provide for the needs of his family
   2. He worked hard to build a good name for his family
   3. He worked hard to train them to get along as his family
3. Job was a spiritual leader for his family (v.5)
   1. He dedicated them unto the Lord – 3 John 4
   2. He prayed for them unto the Lord
   3. He cared for them to be right with the Lord
   4. He shepherded them spiritually, continually
