TEXT: ISAIAH 30; 32; 40

1. We need the help of God & His Spirit over any other help on earth (Isa. 30:1-3)
   1. God says it is rebellion to seek counsel from man over Himself
   2. God says it is rebellion to seek covering of government over His Spirit
   3. God says it will be our shame to trust in man instead of in Himself
2. Life is empty and ineffective without the help of God’s Spirit (Isa. 32:13-19)
   1. Without the blessing of the Spirit, we do not have as much joy
   2. Without the blessing of the Spirit, we are not as fruitful
   3. Without the blessing of the Spirit, we will not enjoy as much peace
3. God, His Spirit, His Son & His Word are superior to all (Isa. 40:6-23)
   1. Superior in goodness that we need to relate to God
      1. The goodness of man is mere flesh and our goodness is inferior
      2. The Spirit of the Lord can blow upon us for good or in opposition
      3. The Word of God is eternal and offers us goodness that does not fade
      4. The goodness God presents to mankind that is superior to his own
   2. Superior in every possible quality to all others
   3. Superior to any & every other entity of worship
      1. To all the nations of the earth that do not compare to God
      2. To idols that man makes to worship that do not compare to God
      3. To everything & everyone in the creation that He has created
