Continue to Renew

This past year we spent a lot of our time in the Word looking at the call of God to CONTINUE in things that He has given to us and what He wants us to do until He returns. This year we will be looking at the call of God to keep things in our life that we are to continue in fresh and new so they don’t become stale and passe to us. If we continue in the Word personally and corporately regularly, it will renew us in our mind and spirit to help us in our daily life. If we continue in faithfulness to the house of God for worship before the Lord and service with the Lord, it will keep our relationship with God fresh by keeping things right with God and others. The best way to continue in spreading the Gospel personally is to renew regularly in doing it and supporting it so it never becomes what we use to do because we are still doing it. This morning I would like to challenge us all in the future year to come with a vision of what God can do through His church here to renew us in the things He wants us to continue with Him. This evening I would like to rejoice with you in the things God did this past year that He wants to continue doing through us again and again. I am praying for myself and the Lord’s church here, that we would, each one individually, continue to renew our fellowship with, service with, obedience to our Lord and our God in the days ahead. I am thankful for all that God has done in this place in the years past. I am humbled by all that God has done in us and through us in the past twenty-six years of my time here as shepherd under the Chief Shepherd here with you. But I am expectant about the future and all that God still wants to do with His people in His church here in Summerville. Our goals have not and will not change. Our ultimate goal is God’s glory in His church through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Our goal of 100% is still the same and we have not achieved that yet. The power of God experienced in us is only limited by us and our surrender to Him in our lives.
