TEXT:  JOHN 14

CONTINUING FROM LAST WEEK’S WEDNESDAY SERMON, we begin with point # 5

1. 5. We must receive Jesus in order to be received into Heaven     John 14:1-6
   1. Jesus wants us to experience peace now & forever by faith
      1. By faith in God to not have a troubled heart
      2. By faith in God the Father as our Heavenly Father
      3. By faith in God the Son as our personal Saviour
      4. By faith in God’s Word as truth & His work in our lives
   2. Jesus wants us to have an eternal home with Him in Heaven
      1. Heaven is the abode of God
      2. Heaven has room for whosoever will trust Christ
      3. Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people
         1. People prepared by having their sins cleansed by faith in the blood of Jesus      Isaiah 1:18;   1 John 2:1,2
         2. Prepared by receiving God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ     Romans 3:20-26
      4. Heaven is a place that you are received into by receiving Christ
      5. Heaven is an eternal place of dwelling in the presence of the eternal God
   3. Jesus wants us to know Him confidently as Saviour     John 14:4-6
      1. Knowing who He is, What He has done for us and Where He is now
         1. As our advocate     1 John 2:1-2
         2. As our mediator     Hebrews 7:25
         3. As our High Priest  Romans 8:34;  Hebrews 12:2
      2. Knowing Him as the only way to Heaven eternally     John 10:7,10
      3. Knowing Him as the truth for forgiveness of sin
      4. Knowing Him as the life to give you eternal life
      5. Knowing Him as the only access into a right relationship with God forever
