I. It is about letting God change us from the inside out (vv. 1-3)

1. It is about waiting on Him (v. 1)

1. Being attentive to Him
2. Seeking Him with our heart and mind
3. Calling out to Him to work in us
4. Yielding to Him doing His work and will in and through us

2. God changes us from faith to faith (v. 2; Romans 1:16-17)

1. Saving faith (Romans 16:25)
2. Growing faith
3. Maturing faith
4. Living faith (I Peter 5:10-11; II Thess. 2:16-17, 3:3)
5. Glorifying faith (I Cor. 10:31; Colossians 3:17, 23)

3. Growing us to be a witness to others (v. 3)

1. By putting a new song in our mouth
2. By putting a new message on our heart (Acts 1:8; 4:20)
3. By putting a new mission of purpose (II Corinthians 5:17-21)

II. It is about God changing us to trust Him more (vv. 4-8)

1. God blesses us as we trust in Him (v. 4)
2. God blesses us as we acknowledge His goodness to us (v. 5)
3. God blesses us as we obey His will for our lives (vv. 6-8)

1. He always blesses obedience over sacrifice
2. He always blesses hearing and doing what He says
3. He always blesses following His Word
4. He always blesses doing His will from our heart purely
5. He always blesses following the example of Jesus as our Saviour

III. It is about God changing us by the power of His Word (vv. 9-13)

1. By the preaching of the righteousness of His Word (vv. 9-10a)
2. By the proclamation of the truth of His Word (vv. 10b-11)
3. By the working of His Word in hearts as it is heard (vv. 12-13)

IV. It is about God changing us as we seek His help in us (vv. 14-17)

1. Seeking God’s help in our lives with our attackers (vv. 14-15)
2. Seeking God’s help in our lives to magnify Himself (v. 16)
3. Seeking God’s help in our lives because of our need (v. 17)
