TEXT: II Corinthians 4:7-18

I. Daily decay requires daily renewal (vv. 7-12)
A. We have an eternal soul in a temporal body (v. 7; Hebrews 10:4-12; Ephesians 1:13-14; II Peter 1:1-4)
B. We have a constant hope in our daily struggles (vv. 8-9)
C. We have the eternally holy life of Jesus living in our mortal body (vv. 11-12)

II. Our outward body is decaying daily, but our inner man can be renewed daily (vv. 13-16)
A. Our faith can be renewed daily by God’s Word (v. 13)
B. Our confidence can be renewed daily in knowing the promises of God (v. 14)
C. Our experience of God’s grace can be renewed daily to help glorify God (v. 15)
D. Our faithfulness to God can be renewed daily as we worship Him daily (v. 16)

III. Keeping our focus on the eternal helps us in the temporal (vv. 17-18)
A. Our afflictions on this earth are temporal
B. Our trials can help us benefit from God’s eternal glory
C. Our focus on eternity is renewed in our worship
1. Our soul is eternal, our flesh is temporal
2. Heaven in eternal, this world is temporal
3. God is eternal, Satan is temporal
