I. This statement is individual — “I”
- Jesus is declaring this for Himself
- It is His church to establish
- It is His church to build
- It is His church to catch away (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
B. We can only make declarations for what we can make happen
C. I am only accountable to God for my own decisions and actions
II. This statement is insistent — “Will”
- It requires determination
- It requires dedication
- It requires diligence
- It requires deliberateness
- We must be purposeful like Jesus
- We must be intentional like Jesus
- We must be volitional like Jesus
- We must be powerful like Jesus
III. This statement is incremental — “Build”
- Building involves increasing over time
- Building involves progressing step by step
- Building involves accomplishing completion (I Peter 2:1-6)
- Jesus will accomplish the completion of building His church age
- Jesus will fulfill His promise to those who are His lively stones
- Jesus wants us to accomplish His will for our lives while we are on earth

- >Have you benefitted personally from Christ’s finished work of redemption of your sins?
- >Are you being part of Jesus doing what He declared in saying “I will build?”
- >Are you committed to finishing the work God has given you to accomplish in the life
- He has given you to live for His glory?
