AM: “I AM IS THY LIFE: CHOOSE LIFE”

TEXT:  Deuteronomy 30:15-29

Introduction: Deuteronomy 30:20; Genesis 1:26-31 & 2:4-9; John 1:1-5

I. God gives us His Word to benefit from in this life  Deuteronomy 30:11-14

  1. It is communicated by Him to us  (v. 11)
  2. It is communicated by Him clearly to us (v. 11-13)
  3. It is communicated by Him to us to work in our hearts (v. 14)
  4. It is communicated by Him to us so we can obey it (v. 14)

II. God gives us a will and the opportunity to express it individually  Deuteronomy 30:15

  1. He sets real options before us to choose from
  2. He gives us opportunities to choose everyday
  3. He gives us outcome potentials of the choices we make

III. God gives us instructions about how we should express our will   Deuteronomy 30:16

  1. In order to love God truly as our God
  2. In order to obey God’s commands to His children
  3. In order to experience God’s help in our lives as His children

IV. God gives us a warning about how we express our will     Deuteronomy 30:17-18

  1. The consequences of expressing our will in a sinful way (v. 17)
  2. The consequences of expressing our will in a rebellious way (v. 17)
  3. The consequences of expressing our will in a way God cannot bless (v. 18)

V. God gives us an explanation of the impact in how we express our will (v. 19)

  1. We will be accountable to God for our choices
  2. We will be accountable to God for the results of our choices
  3. We will be accountable to God for the influence of our choices on others

VI. God gives us the motivation for expressing our will best    Deuteronomy 30: 20-29

  1. To love God as your own God
  2. To obey God’s will for your life
  3. To enjoy God’s presence in your life
  4. To experience God’s life in your life
  5. To receive God’s blessings on your life
