TEXT:  I Timothy 6:17-21

Introduction:
They that will be rich I Timothy 6:9-10
Them that are rich I Timothy 6:17

I. Challenge those who have bene blessed by God (v. 17)
A. To not become proud because of God’s blessings
B. To not trust in the blessings but in the blesser
C. To not enjoy the blessings over the giver of blessings
1. The true and living eternal Holy God gives to everyone gifts to enjoy (Genesis 2:15-16; Romans 5:12-21)
2. All good gifts we can enjoy in life and eternity come from God (James 1:17-18)
3. God wants us all to enjoy the benefits of His good gifts (Acts 10:34-38; I Peter 1:17)

II. Challenge them to honor God with His blessings (vv. 18-19)
A. Do good with the blessings God has given to you (v. 18a)
B. Be rich in good works with the blessings of God (v. 18b)
C. Bless others with the blessings God has given (v. 18c)
D. Invest in eternal things with the temporal blessings from God (v. 19)

III. Steward what God has entrusted to your care (vv. 20-21)
A. Take care of all that God has given to you (v. 20a)
B. Avoid all things that dishonor God (v. 20b)
C. Keep yourself from erring from the truth (v. 21)

Action Points:
1. Are letting God’s gifts to you become an idol in your life?
2. Who are you honoring God’s gifts to you?
3. What can you do to steward God’s gifts to you better?
