TEXT:  I Timothy 5:1-8

I. Respectful purity in church family relationships (vv. 1-2)
A. Respectfully honoring elders as a father (v. 1a)
B. Honorably relating to peers as siblings (v. 1b)
C. Speaking to older women as your mother (v. 2a)
D. Purely relating to younger ladies as our family sister (v. 2b)

II. Compassionate care of widows in the church family (vv. 3-6)
A. Honor widows truly in need (v. 3)
B. Families honoring their own widows (v. 4)
C. Honorable widows need to be cared for honorably (vv. 5-6)

III. Faithfully being responsible for our own families (vv. 7-8)
A. Challenge the church family to be respectable as Christians (v. 7)
B. Challenge the church family to be responsible as Christians (v. 8a)
C. Challenge the church family to be representatives as Christians (v. 8b)

1Timothy 5:8  “… he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
