TEXT:  John 6:60-71

I. Jesus said His life takes place in our spirit (vv. 60-63)
A. His life is generated in our spirit by His Word working in us
1. We cannot hide anything from God’s knowledge
2. Our flesh cannot produce life in our spirit
3. Spiritual life in our Spirit comes from God by His Word through His Spirit (Hebrews 4:12-13)

B. His life is generated in our spirit by His Spirit working through His Word
1. We are made alive in our spirit by the work of God in Salvation (Ephesians
2:1-3; Romans 8:2; I Corinthians 15:45; II Corinthians 3:6; Galatians 5:25; I Peter 3:18)

C. His life is generated in our spirit by our understanding of His Word with His Spirit (John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13)

II. Jesus, as God in the flesh, knows all things (vv. 64-66)
A. He knew the thoughts of those who struggled with His words (vv. 60-61)
B. He knew who would believe on Him and who would reject Him
C. He knew Judas would betray Him when He chose him as a disciple (v. 71)
D. He knows all things but He is not the cause of all that He knows

III. Jesus does not ask questions seeking new information (vv. 67-71)
A. Jesus asked a genuine and legitimate question of His followers (v. 67)
B. Jesus knew the answer but wanted them to declare it for their benefit (vv. 68-69)
C. Jesus chose His followers to serve with Him knowing their heart (vv. 70-71)
