The Gospel Still Saves Sinners

Romans 1:16-17

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:

for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith:

as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

It is the Gospel that saves lost souls from the wages of their sins. It is the power of the Gospel that transforms a sinner into a saint. It is the Gospel that convicts sinners of their sins, convinces them of their need that Christ alone can remedy for them, and it is the Gospel alone that compels them to turn to Jesus in faith, confess their guilt of sin, and call on Him to cleanse them and make them right with the holy God of Heaven. It is the Gospel that does all of these things and, therefore, it is the Gospel that believers must get into the hearts and minds of lost men, women, boys and girls, so it can work in their heart. The Salvation is of the power of God, and His power is unleashed through the Gospel. As God’s people spread the Gospel and people hear the Gospel, then they have the opportunity to experience that power in their own lives to be forgiven of their sins and become a child of God as stated in John 1:12. The key is that God’s children need to share the Gospel message with the lost, so that they can enjoy God’s power of forgiveness and Salvation in their lives and spend eternity in Heaven. We release the power of the Gospel to save souls when we give someone a Gospel tract, share our testimony of Salvation with them, or go through the plan of Salvation with them from the Scriptures. God wants every person to hear the Gospel, so they have the opportunity to respond to the Gospel and experience it’s power in their lives. It is up to us to give to help others take the Gospel to people in other places, and we need to take the Gospel to the people living around us here in our communities of the Grande Ronde Valley of Oregon.
